Privacy Policy

This page explains what data Shigoshi collects, exactly why, and who touches it. We built the product so that sharing follows your actions: applying shares your resume with that team; winning a role shares it with fellow applicants only while your visibility switch is on. No surprises is the policy.
1. What we collect
Account: name, email, phone, password (stored only as a secure hash), role, and profile details you add (headline, skills, education, links, photo). Career material: your resume files and the text we extract from them so Tara can ask relevant questions. Activity: applications, saved jobs, chat messages with hiring teams, interview schedules. AI interviews: your spoken answers are converted to text, scored, and summarised; we keep the transcript and the score. Payments: order and status metadata from Razorpay — never your card or UPI credentials. Technical: standard logs (IP, device, timestamps) for security.
2. Why we use it
To run the product: showing your applications to the teams you applied to, generating your Shigoshi Score, opening chat after shortlisting, scheduling and running video interviews, and processing purchases. To keep you informed: a welcome email and a daily job digest — every digest carries a one-click unsubscribe, and we stop immediately when you use it. To keep the platform safe: fraud and abuse prevention. We do not sell your personal data, and we show no advertising.
3. Who sees or processes it
Hiring teams see your profile, score, and the resume attached to your application to them. Fellow applicants can see your resume only in the winners' wall case described above, and only while your switch is on. Behind the scenes, we rely on trusted processors to run the service: MongoDB Atlas (database), Cloudflare R2 (file storage with expiring links), Razorpay (payments), Daily.co (video calls), OpenAI and fish.audio (interview speech-to-text, scoring, and Tara's voice), and Brevo (email delivery). Each receives only what its job requires. We disclose data to authorities only when law requires it.
4. Cookies
Shigoshi uses one essential cookie — your login session. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics cookies. That's the whole cookie policy.
5. Your controls
In the app you can edit your profile, upload or delete resumes, change the default one, flip the winners'-wall visibility switch, and unsubscribe from digests. For a full account deletion, email support@shigoshi.com from your registered address — we delete your account and associated data within 30 days, keeping only what payment or legal rules require us to retain.
6. Security and retention
Passwords are hashed, resume and photo links expire minutes after they're issued, video rooms are private and token-gated, and payment credentials never touch our servers. We keep data while your account is active and for a short period after deletion requests as described above.
7. Grievances (DPDP Act)
We aim to honour the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For any privacy grievance or request, contact our grievance contact at support@shigoshi.com with the subject "Privacy" — we respond within 15 days. If we update this policy materially, we'll announce it on the site.
8. Children
Shigoshi is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
